Help accessing Gmail

My computing level is extremely elementary.

I want to reach my gmail account following the tutorial "notifier for gmail, browser extension review"
my plan is to read and write emails through my email address.

can somebody guide me step by step from the beginning?

@priest Type www.gmail.com in Opera's address bar. When Gmail page loads, type your username and password. Start using Gmail.
