@asianpotato WhatsApp and Spotify are set to use what theme?
-

@leocg I don't think spotify has a option for themes, but whatsapp is set to system default. Oh and switching to light mode in whatsapp still makes it gray.
This is the theme settings that's effecting whatsapp and spotify. -

@asianpotato It seems that the sites are just detecting that you are using a dark theme and adapting to it.

@asianpotato Then probably it's what I said before, the pages are adapting to the dark theme.

@leocg Is there anyway to disable this? I never had this problem for months when using Opera GX

@asianpotato I've just checked here and with force dark page disabled for the page, WhatsApp uses a light theme, at least before the "login".
After connecting the phone, WhatsApp Web started using the dark theme, since my WhatsApp is set to use that theme.
So, WhatsApp is set to use light theme on the phone?

@asianpotato Nope, it's a site feature. But I'm not so sure that is it now. Here everything works as should.
Try disabling all extensions and also try using a clean profile directory.

@asianpotato Edit: changing into a new clean profile in the directory works at first, but it then reverts back.
The only solution I just found is to:- revert back to light mode
- refresh whatsapp
- change back to dark mode
but you have to redo this again after closing Opera GX

@asianpotato What happens if you select light mode in WhatsApp web settings?
-
AsianPotato last edited by
@leocg When whatsapp is already greyed out, it does nothing.
So far the only solution is to revert to light mode in the easy setup settings and refresh whatsapp. It then reverts to light mode. Then, I would change back to dark mode -

@asianpotato What do you mean by greyed out? What if you open it in a tab?
-
AsianPotato last edited by
@leocg By greyed out, I mean the first screenshot I took. Opening in a new tab works fine it isn't effected by the theme

@asianpotato There shouldn't be any difference between the page on the sidebar and the one in a tab.

@asianpotato Seems to be working fine here. Disabling Force Dark Page in a tab also do the same for the page in the sidebar.

im having the exact same problem with twitter on the sidebar (and whatsapp aswell but i dont use it), ive had it for several days now, i also tried to exclude twitter.com from force dark page but still doesnt fix it. the only solution that worked was what @asianpotato said:
revert back to light mode
refresh whatsapp
change back to dark modealthough only temporarily
