When watching a simple 720p 30-50min youtube clip why does Opera write 2GB of data to SSD?
It slowly reduces it's lifespan. Why do we have 4GB+ RAM if we still write to SSD? How to turn this caching off?
@mrx23dot Because it's the normal behavior, browsers cache the videos on disk.
There is no setting to disable it, but there is a Chromium flag that seems to disable disk caching for streaming, you can try enabling it.
@leocg works great even with 1080p, I recommend enabling this by default (at least for ssds).
