Yes, it's very important!
There are search engines forbidden by the law in my country, so it's very displeasant that I can't get rid of them.

Hi Opera , any updates on this request?
As the other users, I want to remove all search engines but Google, when will be able to do so? -

@javiervonart We don't even know if we will be able to do it.

@leocg Thanks for the answer.
Let's hope at least you let us define the keywords for our non preferred search engines. -

Any updates on this? I'm looking for an extension to delete search engines or at least re-arrange the order of them since I REALLY don't need Yahoo/Bing and all the other crap on my right-click Search with list.
Thx. Stuff like this is why I'm considering other browsers.

The workaround appears to be to install an extension specifically for the search engine you're looking to use so that it'll appear on your right-click context menu. This will not let you delete search engines ofc.
E.g.: https://addons.opera.com/en-gb/extensions/details/search-in-youtube/

@leocg if it's not possible you will probably lose me as a user. This is quite basic, I want Y to be mapped to youtube search but am not even able to change the keyword.
I understand you guys might have business agreements with Yahoo, but atleast let the user change the keyword being used.
That's just ridiculous, I am not going to use Yahoo as a search engine. Depending how annoying it is will determine if I stay with the browser or not.

Yep running into the same issue, tried to type d minor and it wont let me since its ducks engine keyword. This definitly needs to be fixed. I dont know how you can't change it so.

@amorrious It would be advisable to put the term in quotes so that the search engine looks for the words together, and using quotes would prevent Opera from interpretting D as a search engine shortcut. The first part is just general advice - even from a search engine's home page I'd recommend it when searching for D Minor to reduce false positives.
