Unrelated ... being able to display PDF does not mean you can convert to PDF. Now everything in Linux actually prints to Postscript which is similar to PDF, but that's another story. Of course, if you installed a PDF printer in Windows then any program at all could print to PDF.

Opera and the internal builtin PDF plugin works only for display. Printing with builtin PDF plugin on Windows often fails or hangs.

Chrome has a built-in PDF printer (unless I've done something wrong).
It's damned useful to have a pdf reader and pdf printer in the browser.
