@treego It was expected that it could happen.
It was expected that Snap version would not work? Is that what you mean?

error: system does not fully support snapd: cannot mount squashfs image using

According to the search results, the kernel you're using doesn't support squashfs because the module for it isn't loaded. It could be that after installing snapd, you need to restart the system to get the squashfs module to load. Not sure though.

So simply restart the Chromebook, and try installing the Snap version of Opera, again? If so, I can try that. If the solution requires a bunch of theoretical reading on a solution, I am not up for it. I am burned out, @burnout426 .

[==========] Ready
treego14@penguin:~$ sudo snap install opera

Operation not permitted.
treego14@penguin:~$This is my attempt AFTER shutting down Chromebook and restarting. I guess Opera on Chromebook is not in the cards for me.

Thanks for the helpful hints! I don't accept defeat easily. But, this defeated me.

Not as ideal maybe as the Opera Desktop Browser on Linux for my Chromebook ... but I am now using the Opera App from Google Play Store on my Chromebook ... it is very nice! Fast, too!
Opera is still in my blood!

I found this video which seems to be exactly what I am looking for: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azlL8dn7ZD8
Unfortunately, the "locate" command does not seem to work in Crostini (the Chromebook terminal).

Well, guess what @sgunhouse and @leocg ... I got this to work using the video and some nuggets you fellows gave me about a week ago ... Hallelujah, my Opera on Linux/Chromebook has videos in Twitter and elsewhere now!
