Do not tab snooze specific tabs

It would be nice to have the option of having some tabs not do tab snoozing when tab snoozing is enabled. You could have an option to "Disable tab snoozing for pinned tabs" or the ability to whitelist websites where tab snoozing will not occur. The way it is now is an all or nothing approach which I think can be improved upon since there are some websites logged into with information up that are effected when a tab is reloaded after being snoozed.

Not the full feature you want, but just an FYI. You can goto the URL
opera://discards
and turn off discarding (snoozing) for a certain tab. You'd have to do this each time the tab is opened though. -

I love that it can be done as burnout 426 has pointed out. That's very useful for some browser games.
However, I agree with lancealot that right clicking the tab to enable or disable would be better. And if specific sites could be set to automatically disable snoozing that would be best.

If they introduce the new memory saver mode (https://blog.google/products/chrome/new-chrome-features-to-save-battery-and-make-browsing-smoother/) like how Chrome is implementing it, then it will allow to turn it on and off based on a website whitelist. So hopefully this gets introduced into Opera like how it is being done in Chrome.

@lancealot Isn't what Snooze inactive tabs to save memory does?

Yes it does, but it doesn't offer the option to whitelist websites like what is going to be available in Chrome. I just used the term "memory saver mode" since that is what Google is calling it for their new version of Chrome. Admittedly Chrome already snoozes tabs which can be seen in the discards section, but they never added the ability to turn it on and off easily for websites, and in the settings have a whitelist section. I am hoping this implementation of snoozing tabs where you have more control makes it into Opera in the future, since that is what this post discussion was about, more control over what tabs snooze or don't.

It would be handy to be able to configure an exclusion to tab snoozed if the tab is displaying certain addresses / domains. Some websites don't like it if you snooze them and have a tendency to log you out.
At present the only configurable behavior is the ability to disable tab snoozing entirely, rather than being able to exclude certain tabs. It's a brilliant feature, but I believe it lacks a bit of granularity in its current implementation.
Thanks in advance for considering this.

I believe I posted a duplicate of this myself as I didn't initially find this one.

It looks like this functionality is finally available if you enable the "#memory-saver" advanced flag in Opera. Once you enable this flag and restart, you will have a performance section with the memory saver options in the settings area just like Chrome does. I enabled and it seems to work similar to Chrome. Additionally, I found out if you pin a tab, it won't snooze the tab. This is exactly the behavior I was hoping for. So with "#memory-saver" flag enabled and turning on the memory saver in the opera settings it makes for a much better experience when you have lots of tabs open in the browser. Happy to see this finally became available in Opera.
