Folders in the bookmarks bar disappear

I use the newest Opera and the newest Windows. This bug has been around for a long time. When I create more than one folder with bookmarks in the bookmarks bar, the second folder will soon disappear and the bookmarks from it will appear in the first folder.

Test in a standalone installation and include step-by-step instructions on how to trigger the the disappearing folder problem. Make sure to detail how you're creating the folders in the bookmarks bar (right-clicking on the bookmarks bar or right-clicking in the bookmarks panel or on the
opera://bookmarks
in the bookmarks bar section or the new folder button in the heart icon dialog) and what names you're using for the folders. -

@burnout426 I was hoping the problem would go away when I recreated the folder and moved the bookmarks, but while it's been a long time the error persists. This time the other folder was gone and the bookmarks moved themselves again
I also noticed that the bookmarks originally placed in this folder turned out to be the opposite of what I had previously placed.
Here's how to recreate it:
-
Add several pages to the Bookmark Bar by dragging the tab to the Bookmark Bar.
-
Create an unnamed foder on the bookmarks bar - I did this from the bookmarks bar.
-
Move the bookmarks to the new folder - these can be new pages dragged from tabs or one of the created bookmarks on the bookmars bar.
-
Now create a second folder on the Bookmark bar and bookmark it as before. It is important that, in addition to folders, there are also the same boomarks on the bookmarks bar. Folders can also be separated from each other by bookmarks.
-
Now you have to wait. It may take longer or less. You don't even have to close the browser.

@rafalspuka You tried those steps in a standalone installation or just your regular installation? If in the standalone installation, did you make sure not to enable Opera Sync?
I'm trying to reproduce the issue using the steps you provided, but the folders are remaining.
Try this. In a fresh standalone installation, goto the URL
opera://bookmarks
, delete all bookmarks and speed dials. Then, empty the bookmark trash. Then, turn on the bookmarks bar and add your bookmarks and folders and bookmarks in the folders. Then, immediately go back toopera://bookmarks
and export your bookmarks to an HTML file. Then, upload it somewhere so we can download it and import it. -
