          @aam2018 I followed that step by step but the wallpaper doesn't show up. Any idea what I could do?

            @akut Can you add any animated wallpaper from https://addons.opera.com/en/wallpapers/?tag=animated

            otherwise Double check:

            video is .webm format

            make sure your thumbnail graphic is jpg format and named "first_frame_start_page.jpg" or "first_frame_start_page.jpeg". If you use jpeg as the extension rename the extension in the persona.ini

            change the line "background = video.webm" to your actual video name. I don't know what the limit is in time or resolution so you might have to experiment there.

            Put your name in the name field but I just tried it with all the info lines left blank and it still worked.

            We Need A Text File Named persona.ini make sure the extension here is .ini and not .txt. When you make this file, before saving under file name, click on Save as type and switch from Text Documents (.txt) to All Files (.*)

            [Info]
            name =
            author =
            url =
            version =

            [Start Page]
            background = video.webm
            position = center center
            title text color = #FFFFFF
            title text shadow = #000000
            first frame image = first_frame_start_page.jpg

            zip up all three files into one zip which includes your video, thumbnail file, and persona.ini. Make sure it's a zip file and not 7zip or rar. I can confirm this also works in Opera GX.

            Be sure to change the Wallpaper image option to Wallpaper archive when choosing your wallpaper.

            Otherwise copy your zip file to this folder: C:\Users\Terry\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable\themes (replace my name with your own account name. And see if you can add it.

              @akut Another option I forgot to mention is to Close Opera then go to : C:\Users(your account name)\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable\themes, copy all the zip files there to another folder for backup and then delete all the zip folders there. Then open Opera again and try to add your wallpaper. You can salvage any other custom backgrounds through the backup zips.

              If you can't see these folders, to unhide them: Type folder options in search, then click on it in the list, then click on the View tab, go to the Advanced settings list scroll down to the Hidden files and folders and check Show hidden files, folders and drives.

                        @burnout426 look, just saying, this seems a little complicated, is there any alternative? It seems complex, but I havent tried it, I tried the first few steps and to follow along but then Opera started getting weird, like "Relaunch Opera and Download Version 2.356378" Or something along those lines.

                          @animebotw The easiest way to do this is to click the Easy-Setup button, click "Add your wallpaper", and point it to your animated webp file. That's it.

                          Goto https://mathiasbynens.be/demo/animated-webp, right-click on the animation and choose to save the webp file. Then, add it.

                          If your video is an mp4 or webm file, search for "m4p to webp" or "webm to webp" on the net for how to convert your file to webp.

                                Worked for me! reminder that if you have a long video (mine was 1min long) it may take some time to start on first use.

                                    @plasma If anyone is still looking for an answer. If you have a webp format file, just open it up in Opera and right-click on it and choose the option, Use image as wallpaper. @spthepero said in Custom Animated Wallpaper:

                                        and then pasted it in the profile path

                                        You have to add the zip via the "Add wallpaper" button in the Easy Setup menu in Opera.
