When I type in the following URL (http://www.fencing.net/forums/forum.php)a Google search page opens rather than the requested page, as used to happen.

Opens OK in IE11 and as far as I know this is the only site that is 'affected'.

      Opera 12, Win 7 Ult.

      Thanks for any suggestions.

Clicking your link appears to work fine here - in a more recent version of Opera, I'll try in 12 later ... but check your link above yourself, it could be an auto complete issue. (That is, you may have typed it wrong once, and it is suggesting the mis-typed address when you type now.)

Opera 12.14 here redirects to http://www.google.com/ , with or without JavaScript enabled. Disabling auto-redirect allows one to see the specific redirection. It could be some browser-sniffing going on up at the fencing.net server. The fencing.net site works OK in Firefox and Qupzilla, as well as IE.

In other words, probably a browser sniffing issue ... yeah, setting "Identify as Firefox" loads fine. Go to Settings > Preferences (or just Alt-P) and click on Advanced > Content, Manage Site Preferences... Click on Add, enter www.fencing.net, then on the Network tab change Identify as Opera to Identify as Firefox. It'll work fine after that.
