[Solved] Opera does not import passwords

johnbull44 last edited by leocgWhilst I consider Opera as being a really well designed browser, it is completely useless since I cannot import my passwords from Chrome. So I have to have either Chrome or MS Edge as my browsers. Is there a remote possibility that the Opera controllers will ever rectify this serious fault and come into line with other browsers ?

johnbull44 last edited byUntil Opera comes into line with other browsers, I will give it a miss.
Fiddling about with various commends and creating a CSV file on Chrome is simply not worth the effort when Chrome and Edge are superb browsers with no problems whatsoever.

Go to the URL opera://settings/import data and import your passwords from Chrome. While importing passwords, make sure that the Chrome is closed.
You can also import the CSV file; in Opera://settings/passwords, the "import" option will be available.

leocg Moderator Volunteer last edited by@johnbull44 There is no space between import and data, it should be opera://settings/importData Anyway, you should try importing passwords in opera://settings/passwords

leocg Moderator Volunteer last edited by leocg@johnbull44 Any difference if you import through opera://settings/passwords? Can you import the passwords in other Chromium based browsers?

Can you import the passwords in other Chromium based browsers? I have tried to import passwords to Opera using all kinds of methods but they all fail.
No problem importing passwords to my other browsers.
I do not favour fiddling about with importing a CSV file. Not worth the effort.

johnbull44 last edited by leocgGot It ! I enabled the import passwords in Opera flags - clicked the 3 dots against passwords - import - a panel came up showing my files - clicked the CSV file - Chrome passwords which I had exported and saved from Chrome and all my passwords came up in Opera !! Problem sorted and thank you so much for your help.
