First of all, all 10 demos here are excellent and I believe they all should have a place in Opera GX. However, since this is a competition where only one can win the Audience's vote, I'll have to make a choice and here's why I'll be choosing that particular demo.
The point of a background track here is to get out of your way and be a part of your workflow while you browse the web. The track also has to be sleek and modern to match with Opera GX's modern looks. It shouldn't be too epic, or distracting. It should simply provide you with a feeling of your browser responding to you through the music.
All that considered, I think tracks like A, B, C, D and F should not be chosen because, they really are great pieces of music but they lack the lowkey-ness that they required for this competition. We're voting for the best song that can fit into GX's background music, not THE best music here. There's also the fact that B is very much banking on the success of Stranger Things theme over here.
E and J are very close to what I was looking for as they have that edgy and modern feel to their sound. I was very close to choosing either of them.
I was going pretty well until more elements were being introduced in it, thus taking away the simplicity of the song.
G was almost my final choice, until I realized that Lo-Fi hiphop beats don't suite Opera GX's style. They almost clash too hard. We have a modern browser on one and and a jazzy lofi beat on the other.
Ultimately, the best choice here should be H in my opinion. It doesn't distract you, the progression keeps you hooked to the music but also doesn't take away your concentration, it even has a very loopable structure.
And thus, I have chosen H to be my final decision -

A or G will probably win, i think G will cause it's Lofi and people love Lofi, no concern, i also like Lofi, but my vote is for I, it's the one i most liked.

Opera should select all because dammn these are some really good sounds. Opera should select all and let the user choose in the browser. Or maybe make a "playlist" so we can hear them all.

i voted G but thats the only one i liked. i actually want to keep the current one or make something really similar. The current Opera GX background song is really great. it just makes me relax A LOT while doing something in the web! Im really hopeful they at least make it so people can use the old one instead of the soon-to-be new music.

I voted "J" but i love "C & J" and there needs to be a way we can mix the songs and pick the song we want for the background sound.

@pjakstas3 i agree with you i stated something like that if they put all of them then they would be thinking of the users and what they want bc then no one would be upset and it would be great if they implemented something to where you can mix them or make your own.

Even if I vote for one track, I really hope that in the future I can listen to each of them, because I liked everything. Hope to be heard.
Thank you for the best browser -

@johnwill: Well reasoned set of points, but, I'm not sure that the point of the background music here is to 'get out of the way of your workflow', or to be reduced to simple 'elevator' music that just sits in the background. I think what we have here is new territory for the user. Maybe the user would like to be inspired by and epic inspirational and moving piece of music, or maybe relaxed into a calm state, or even fired-up for action. What we are asked to vote on here is what 'we' would like to back-drop our browsing activities, and I guess our answer to that question would change dependent on our mood, or activity at the time. It's all a big new world, and I think we are all different, but, certainly I would not relegate the choice to fit in with one view of the music's perceived function.
