How come all of a sudden everytime i click a link on google it opens a new tab? Why does it do this and where can i change this. It is annoying as all hell.

@noxeonm There is a setting in Google to open links in a new tab; Maybe you have enabled it?

Thanks for the reply. I found the settings page, but when i uncheck the box, save the settings it automatically checks the box for me. Why is that?

@noxeonm No idea, how is the behavior in other browsers? maybe Google has changed something?

other browsers work fine. just Opera is doing weird

Well, there is an extension in Opera that can help you to prevent this. The name of the extension is Disable force opening links in new tab. It will help you to open the link in the same tab.
