What happened to Opera mobile?

  • I switched to Vivaldi on my laptop about two months ago, but until they released something for Android, I was fine with using Opera mobile on my phone and tablet. I open it today to show my friend a cool site, and it opens with this "feed" thing. 98% of it is celeb clickbait with almost nude thumbnails. Why did they do this? I think they had something like this on the desktop version but I never used it. I suppose it would be cool if you could select your interests and it would give you articles based on that, but none of this interests me and it is an annoyance. Can anyone suggest a good web browser for Android? I'm thinking about using Firefox more because I downloaded it and I kinda like the interface. That or just Chrome.

  • Personally, I just turn the News section off. Too bad I can't do the same with Firefox - though they only show 3 stories so it is easy enough to ignore.
