Using Netflix US from a non-US location through Opera VPN has become impossible since yesterday after months of using that functionality without problem. Anyone else facing the same issue?

More details: vpn still activated, I can still log into netflix, but the US-only series I follow do not appear in my netflix anymore. If I try to access them from Netflix viewing activity menu:

• without VPN on, I am told I am not in the right region
• with VPN on, I get a Netflix error code 071111-5059 and a message telling me I am using an unblocker or proxy and should ‘turn it off and try again’

Has Opera VPN being ‘busted’ by Netflix?

@kehailia You may need to ask Netflix but seeing what you are reporting, I guess the answer is yes.

@leocg thanks. Do you know if that’s a platform-wide issue or just affecting my account? If platform wide, any update considered by Opera? If me only, anything I can do to fix this?

@kehailia It's widely known that Netflix blocks VPNs, there's nothing much that can be done.

@kehailia I have the same issue, so I guess Netflix has busted us.
update: if I choose Europe, it works fine. The problem seems to be just with the American option.

@TatoJCM thanks. Good to know I am not the only one, selfishly But sorry to know you face the same issue. Europe and Asia also work for me apparently. I am only getting that message for Americas. I guess it’s time to find another VPN.

Here, I'm experiencing the same. As for me, locations aside from America(Asia, Europe for instance) worked just fine until 2 days ago. But now every location, including America don't work. Even the symptoms are just as you stated: Us-only series does not appear anymore. Just to be sure I've updated it up to the recent version.

Same issue. I also use vpn for watching netflix
