      Hi:

What options should i specify at opera command line to start "just" the Opera browser ?

      Opera version: 69.0.3686.57

      Don't want

      • GPU
      • autoupdate
      • extension support
      • goodies, bloatware
      • flow
      • side bar
      • news etc.
      • and all the bazillion 'zygote' crap that starts out of nowhere.

I currently use an alias like this
      alias op='OPERA_AUTOUPDATE_DISABLED=1 /usr/bin/opera --disable-gpu --disable-update'

Any one knows ? Any pointers ?

      Thanks in advance.

@strikr In settings you can disable hardware acceleration, Flow, news on start page, sidebar, etc.

          doesn't really work !

as a test i start opera with a single window and there are four zygote starting by themselves. then there are some other with gpu rendering etc.

It appears that the "tunables" shown in settings are "cosmetic" and serve the purpose of "eliding the UI" component but not the functionality and/or backend instances.

Anyways, i dont think the problems of opera are going to get fixed until it is released as "free software" !

          Thanks for your time.

@strikr I don't think you can really start Opera without those components. Or most of them at least.
