@dhokoo - done repeatedly to no avail. performed the most recent update (version given at the start) and no help. The Speed Dial is not populating at all even though it was a full screen (about 4 x 5) worth of links and groups sites.

@leocg - yes. I rather assumed the presence of the speed dial hinged on the operation within the sidebar - if I'm mistaken I'll accept that but the sidebar changed the moment I ran the update and that was when I also noticed the speed dial was gutted and absent from all the sites I had grouped in there.

I have tried pulling back from my Sync storage with no success either.

@rbkinsey Sidebar and Speed Dial are different and, as far as I know, independent things.

Do you see your Speed Dials in the bookmarks manager page?

@leocg No - and the bookmarks page from the sidebar is not available when I try to add it either. This goes back to why I felt the sidebar might be the issue.

@rbkinsey You don't see the speed dials anywhere there? This is not a good sign.

@rbkinsey What you mean by not available?

@leocg I mean if I select to enable (check) the Bookmarks from right-clicking on the sidebar - nothing shows up. If I select settings and drill into the Sidebar I can get the bookmarks (the heart icon) to appear - but all the pages are missing. They are not found in my bookmarks file, not listed in the "Speed dial" section.

I did find something under my bookmarks folder called "Other Speed Dials" - drilling down (2 levels) has a bunch of the links marked for deletion (which I did not do). I'm going to try and recover those and see if I can't rebuild the speed dial I had before.

@rbkinsey It happens only with the bookmarks icon in the sidebar? If you enable other things there, the icons show up?

@leocg Yes - the bookmarks (and ultimately the Speed Dial) was not visible until I went into the bookmark folder but things like Extensions, Personal News, Downloads, GX Control all remained visible and would select / de-select.
