replace adobe flash with html 5?

  • Will Opera replace Adobe Flash with html 5 as Google Chrome has? Adobe Flash is crashing constantly. I even went back a version to see if it was the latest download was the cause. Chrome eats too much memory so I would like to stay with Opera if possible.

  • Chrome still supports/uses flash and, in fact, has its own bundled flash player.

Opera supports html5 video/audio players but maybe not so many codecs as Chrome. They've just started introducing support for h264 and mp3 so more videos can be played in Opera.

  • @jlbaskin Flash is not the same as HTML5! May be you think, Flash is video with Flashplayer.

HTML5 in these days may replace some features of interactive content and video, Adobe and other dealing with HTML5 showed this years before, but not all features of Shockwave Flash are replacable with HTML5.

I think Flash will coexist with HTML5 some years more.
