I have had a problem in the past of Kaspersky suddenly blocking a lot of links and downloads of malware applications through Opera.

These problems have not happened in a while, as I blocked all my extensions, only re-activating those I truly need.
And the problem went away(I also foolishly wiped my cache/history and lost a lot of data I did not back up, in an attempt to solve this problem as has been stated elsewhere).

Anyway this morning I needed an email translated and fed up with going to google to manually do it, I re-enabled the translator extension. A few hours later now, the malware is attempting to load itself on my computer, and Kaspersky is stopping it once again. I have seen other complaints about this extension in this forum.

I really think Opera needs to look into this extension. The malware does not load straight away, they are very clever and it is only after a few hours.

Anyway it is all I wanted to say, Opera you know about the problem now, I just wanted to warn the other users and dont really want to get into a discussion about this issue.

Ban it or do not; I do not care either way, but if you do use this extension, then be warned, your computer will be hacked.

The extension is the one with icon : the blue background "a" in white on the top left, and the "h" squiggle in green on the right.

Hmm, the developer in question @sailormax has been quite reputable, perhaps someone hacked the account and uploaded a bad version? I'll see what I can find out.

@gavin786 A link to the extension would be helpful. Or, even better, posting on the extension comments section, so people can easily know about what extension are you talking about.
Also, the author can see it and give you a response.

By the way, you can report bad extensions here. Choose Web Services and then addons.opera.com
