Opera install file will not start or do anything

I have and XP computer on which I cannot update Chrome. Opera is listed as still working with XP. I downloaded Opera but when I try to execute the install file it does not do anything. Windows pops up the verification to let this file make changes but then nothing happens. There is no install interface popping up. Does anyone know why this would happen?

@therapy-0-glues XP stopped being supported a long time ago, the last version for that OS was Opera 36 (currently Opera is at version 67).

Did you download and install Opera 36?
