I was just using Opera to do this and it froze on me. Has been doing this ever since i put the update on 2 days ago. What's up and how do I fix it. I have too much time invested in Opera to change to another browser now.
Please help!!!!!!!

+1. Its much slower, freezing like on forums etc when typing. Also the book marks side panel does not show all bookmarks if you have folders on the bookmarks bar, they will not show in the side panel.

Hi @jin8864y, maybe it's the same issue with synchronization, as described in this thread. You can try to log out of the sync account, and see if this stops freezing the browser.

Sounds like the same issue I had:
Immediately after the update the new version worked fine. Then, after the next restart, Opera would freeze a few seconds after every startup ("not responding"). It would stay unresponsive and I would have to force-close every time. Here's how I fixed that:
- Exit Opera (force-close)
- Back up the file "Current Session" from your profile folder: https://help.opera.com/en/latest/crashes-and-issues/
Alternatively, just back up the whole profile folder (C:\Users[UserName]\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable). - Delete the file "Current Session" from your profile folder.
- Start Opera. (It should work fine now but your open tabs will be gone.)
- Close Opera.
- Copy your backup of "Current Session" back to your profile folder (replace the new file Opera created automatically).
- Start Opera.
- Success!
If you don't need to keep/restore your open tabs just follow steps 1, 3 & 4.

@l33t4opera The sync function has been nothing wrong with me until I update the current build. If the sync function doesn't work properly, it is pointless to be exist in Opera.

@operalinknx1 I had the same issue with folders on the Bookmarks Bar...if the drop down box has folder in it, they do not display and the drop down box will not scroll. I installed the last version over 67.0.3575.31, and added "--disable-update" to the launcher.exe command line.

@bbildman Yes, you're right. Please see my post here for a solution for anyone else who may need help. This has helped me avoid further updates until we have a word from Opera. It is difficult to find a proper Changelog or Update Log without digging into Opera's blog and searching to see if they posted about the update. There's no main Release channel changelog page which makes it more frustrating. But for now this should help.

I found a solution. I just uninstalled and re-installed a new version, and everything is fine now. It happens occasionally and gives me hassle to do that. Opera developers need to fix this issue. Chrome and Firefox don't have this issue at all.

@jmc5221 nope restarting is not fixing the issue )) and prolonging the freeze is also not a solution ))

it happen to me as well after updating to 67.0.3575.31, try restarting your pc, might reduce the freezeSo the Fix is that i backed up and exported the passwords and bookmarks and history into chrome just in case, and zip in the opera source file and profile file, to be in the safe and just installed the previous version before this one " 67.0.3575.31" and i was back and working without an issue ! the new version is not stable clearly as stated don't really know why the Dev's rolled it out as stable .

@jimmybfmv Doesn't work for me. What really worked - to turn OFF synchronization. Seems Opera has some sort of problems with it
