How to change entry text below speed dial Thumbnails? switch to text line only SpeedDial?

On my speed dial pane there are a couple of thumbnails.

How can switch to a text line only Speed Dial view?
I don't need those big fat thumbnails.

How can I change/edit the speed dial entry names/labels?

It's impossible to do that in Opera for Android.

Only way to change the entry would be to cheat - use javascript to set the page title before adding it to speed dial.

Oh.
Of course if you're rooted and have the right tools you could also edit favorites.db manually.

All that complexity required to achieve this simple thing is weird. What's the reasoning?
