[Solved]Opera not starting - Windows 10 Enterprise LTCS v1809 (OS build 17763.914)

Please note my Windows version on the Topic Tittle. I have repeatedly installed the latest version of Opera and also tried older versions, whether as an executable installer as well as portable versions. So the first time Opera is installed it starts up fine but after I close it it fails to start again (I keep double clicking but nothing happens) so I have to reinstall Opera in order to start up and again the same thing happens once I close it.
Can anyone explain what the hell is going on with Opera or is it my Windows version that stops Opera from working/starting and is there a solution at all. Firefox and Windows Edge works great every time. I cannot find anything on the internet regarding my particular issue. Help anyone. Thanks

I don't see why Opera wouldn't open on that build of Windows 10.
Check your task manager to make sure Opera's process isn't stuck open. If so, kill it and then try opening Opera (a reinstalling might do just that, which could be why it works).
I think it is indeed something messed up on your Windows though. Not sure what though. You could temporarily create another user account and try running Opera in it to see if you have better luck. Then, you'd at least know that it's something with your user account (probably in the registry).

Thanks to all for your input. I also have Vivaldi and Chrome which are more or less similar to Opera and they work fine so Windows cannot be the culprit. Opera is missing some 'screws' for which the developers have to work on.

try your portable opera w/o clickgo to start - run - in the run box type the path
Example 1
C:\Apps Portable\Browsers\Opera\launcher.exethen click ok..
Close Opera and do example 1 again..
hopefully it will start again.. if it does start perhaps mouse is the trouble..
if not try Example 2 in the run box - click ok..
Example 2
C:\Apps Portable\Browsers\Opera\66.0.3515.27\opera.exe -

I did what you suggested, except Opera portable was automatically installed on my desktop. Anyhow, it gave me errors when i pointed it to launcher.exe and then somehow launcher.exe disappeared from it's folder. Interestedly I could launch Opera.exe from within the 66.0.3515.31 folder. I closed and started Opera 4 times and it seems to be working so it's a total mystery. Let's see if it keeps working. Thanks for that.

@Lapinga from what you posted that is more than wierd 4 opera..
i dunno if it will keep work 'n 4 ya.. umm hopefully their is no malware..
you could put your desktop icons in a folder by theirself (as a back up)
then open explorer - goto - launcher.exe and - right click it and send to your desktop..
you said you installed several times.. icon thingy may got confussed lol (even tho opera suppst to fix its icon whenever a new install
because all of that is roo damn weird in my opinion.. Wow

So far it's working. Can't understand why Opera is the only browser that caused me problems. I downloaded it directly from Opera's website so should not have malware. Long as it keeps working it's all good, otherwise I'll use Vivaldi as my Chrome-type browser.
