      hi
Firefox got it: Autocomplete with only a few letters within the string of the URL in the address bar 🙂
E.g.: type "ox" and it shows firefox.com.
Opera instead needs to have the starting letters for autocomplete. This is very annoying to me 😞
I have serveral pages with the same first part of the URL, eg: same1, same2, same3,..
To jump quickly i type in Firefox only e1,e2,e3 as unique part of their names and go.
This feature is missing in Opera.
Am i right here for wishes? 🙂

@cratte How does it work in other Chromium based browsers?

testet in "wasted" Google Chrome after filling its history with wanted URLs - same negative effect.
Only the correct starting letters are autocompleted. Phrases lying within words are not recognized, accepted.

So it is a Chrome error?
            Sorry for Opera.

@cratte Probably this is how Chromium works, don't know.

@cratte Even Opera History has not a partitial autocomplete. 😞
The search term always has to start with the beginning of searched words.
No "word in word" searches possible 😞

@cratte I use several browsers. Opera is currently my default but I was along-time Firefox user. At this point Firefox's auto-complete is still superior to all competitors. It's difficult to explain but basically everyone needs to copy Firefox! It is one of the key features that kept me glued to Firefox for years.

Opera's implementation is not too bad but still not as good as Firefox's. but now the other features of Opera have tipped the balance, hence why Opera is now my default.
