@leocg said in Unable to sync passwords:
@tarakbumba The other is about loading locally saved passwords while this one is about syncing those passwords.
Doesn't seem to be the same issue.
@leocg Please kindly read other topic again. It's not about locally saved passwords. It and this topic describes same complaints, same symptoms and thus same issue. We don't discuss that Opera can't save passwords. We discuss that it doesn't sync passwords and doesn't fill password fields. We all see blank page at "Saved passwords" setting.
Look at first post of other topic:
@look87 said in opera can't load password:it can't load password for some sites.the password saved in opera.but when I go to some site every time I have to fill password and username manually.pleas fix it

@tarakbumba it seems to me that the topic of the other thread is different. Although syncing is mentioned it is not the main issue. So no I'd prefer to keep the two topics separate.

On a brighter note. It seems that the issue for me has resolved itself. Now my phone is logging in on sites for which I saved my password on my laptop. I hope other people facing this problem receive the same stroke of luck or get a mod or opera employee to look at their particular case. I'll leave this topic open for others.

@tarakbumba So, there's no mention about syncing passwords there.
The original issue is about saved passwords not be working.

@leocg While I strongly disagree it's your call. It seems to me Opera doesn't save passwords locally but saves on servers. Thus both forum topics are about syncing passwords.

@tarakbumba It saves locally as far I know. On desktop it's saved locally for sure.

@leocg Try it with Opera Android. Disconnect your phone from net and look at Settings > Passwords >Saved passwords. I'm sure you'll be welcomed by a blank page instead of passwords. May be it stores passwords data to phone but it may still need to communicate with opera servers to get encryption key. What I don't understand that Chrome doesn't have this problem but is build on same chromium base.

@tarakbumba Did that and couldn't confirm, my saved passwords were listed.

@leocg Thanks for trying. So, there's one thing left for me. It's an issue with Xiaomi's MIUI. How can we get attention of opera devs? A bug report isn't a solution. They either don't look into it or don't have time. I have a bug report opened months ago but never get a news then.

@tarakbumba If you save a password for some site in your Opera for Android, can you see it listed? I'm asking because we may be seeing two different issues here.
-
tarakbumba last edited by
@leocg Yes, I can see it listed. I can login succesfully my PC and android

@tarakbumba I can see the saved passwords in andriod opera settings, it just doesn't auto populate on some sites
-

@tarakbumba So the problem you were talking about is not happening?
-
MichaelRoss5 last edited by
@leocg Yes, further investigation shows passwords are there but on some sites they are no auto populating, have to manually enter

@leocg It's happening still. My point is if passwords are synced and stored on phone then why I can not see them populated in site logins or password section of settings for a quite while. Why I have to wait 5 minutes or more for passwords to be filled? That's the problem for me.

@tarakbumba So there's no synchronization issue? You can see passwords from one device in another one?
