I'm in the UK but did Opera think I'm in the US

  • Last month I went to the US, and of course used Opera whilst there.

Now, I am back in Blighty, but does the app still think I'm in America?

The reason I think it does is that sites such as BBC and The Guardian keep redirecting me back to the US versions, and some European or UK store sites give me $$$ pricing or even refuse to let me in as they "don't deliver to your country".

I've cleared the caches multiple times but still not getting anywhere.

    Advice and thoughts appreciated

  • @Matthewdstagg Try cleaning the cookies.

  • @leocg All cookies and browsing data cleared. I have checked the account and it is set to the UK. I am logged in to Opera on mobile and laptop so the timezone issue is synced across the two devices.

I just visited a website and was presented prices in dollars, so the issue remains in some deeper tracking cookie. Have wondered if Google is the cause?

  • You might got the data saving option activated (which is like using a proxy). Or the VPN.
