U2F registration issues

It seems that there is some issue with U2F first time registration for number of sites: Google, Facebook.
First I get the prompt to press button on secure USB car. After doing basically nothing happens.
When I do the same thing under the Chrome (for same account) after pressing button I get additional pop-out window to select as far as I remember certificate.
This never happens when I'm using Opera.
Once the key is registered in Chrome, later-on authentication using Opera works just fine.It looks like some kind of bug in Opera (I'm using 64.0.3417.92 version).

@leocg thanks for following up.
I just made a test and it made no difference (issue is still present).- enabled opera://flags/#chromium-ua-compatibility
- removed existing key on Facebook
- restarted Opera and tried to register same key again.
- it failed so I had to do it in Chrome
I'm currently using Opera 65.0.3467.38.

@leocg unfortunately disabling 'Block ads and surf the web up to three times faster' and 'Block trackers' made no difference.
Do you have any other suggestions? I'm wondering if there any chances that this could be evaluated by dev-team?
I'm using HYPERSECU HyperFIDO K8 U2F key. -

@leocg I'm wondering if there is any way to enable debugging to see what's going on under the mask when the issue is triggered?
I've checked 'DevTools' 'Network' and 'Console' but could not find anything relevant. -
