High cpu usage watching youtube

Hi, since I updated from version 63 to 64 watching videos on youtube is high CPU usage. In version 63 it was 30% now in version 64 it is 60% - 70%.
I found in Changelog Opera 64

DNA-79675 Use FFmpegDemuxer to demux MP4 + H.264 + AAC

And some other entries from FFmpegDemuxer
However, this flag is disabled and enabling it will do nothing.

Anyone know what happened that from version 63 to version 64 will give more CPU usage when watching videos?

latest Opera Stable 64.0.3417.83 64 bit Portable runs high cpu.. I'd say the Beta does also..

if ya mute the speaker icon in tab.. ya will see cpu drop drastic

latest Opera Dev 66.0.3489.0 64 bit Portable Uses way less Cpu

muting the speaker icon in tab.. ya will see cpu drop some but not like Opera Stable 64.0.3417.83

For me, the development version uses as much CPU as stable. Muting the tab actually helps, but why watch youtube without sound ...

@arkus1995 lol yea i meant that when stable is muted then ya see what the video cpu is pull 'n..

then when ya un-mute ya see the cpu soar way too high.. so to me the cpu run 'n that high means maybe the audio part needs fix 'n

And the video cpu looked ok..

dev theirs not much difference.. b'tween video & audio cpu on my end

dev for me used lots less cpu for me use 'n as a Standalone..

i also used Opera_GX_63.0.3368.56786 Portable lately.. to me it used less cpu than all the rest..

the latest Gx compares with the dev tho..

CPU usage good for me (developer). But, my pc freeze 3 times on youtube.

I examined the case by comparing Opere 63 and 64 and it turns out that you are right with this sound.

I listened to the mp3 file from the hard disk through opera 63 and 64:
opera 63 5-10% cpu
opera 64 47-60% cpu

Youtube:
opera 63 30-35% cpu
opera 64 60-70% cpu
opera 64 25-30% cpu mute tab

@arkus1995 I can confirm this problem. A very strange addiction if you turn off the sound. In other browsers based on a similar version of chromium, I do not see such a problem.

Thank you so much for pinpointing this bug to audio.
When I mute a YouTube video, the cpu usage goes from 40%+ to 15%-.

Now... what I have to do?

@johnd78 cool, thanks. It's something I'll have to wait. Opera just update to 65 and it's still consuming a lot of processing power when playing audio - it happens on Spotify as well.

@ab-garcez It seems like the issue is caused by animated tab icon. When you hover mouse over tab and animation stops, CPU usage goes down significantly. I found this suggestion on the other forum and it happens to be right.

@no9or9 holy s.... I cannot believe it. When I hover the tab, the CPU goes from 40% to 4%. What the h...? How can I disable the animations?

Yes its cuz of animations, really weird

Btw for twitch, you can use popup video player, there is no animation on popup window tab

@ab-garcez A long time ago, the Opera browser had the #tab-audio-Indicator flag, and it seems that the current CPU loading problem is related to the tab-audio-Indicator animation.
