Opera does not open links in new tab

A couple of days ago Opera stopped opening links in a new tab. (I'm running Windows 10)

@ivcourtial the same started happening to me too just a few days ago. I tried reseting the browswer and doing updates but no luck.

Hey, opening a link in a new tab manually works but the automated one wasn't working. However, no worries I have managed to sort out the issue after updating Opera to a new version via Linux Mint 19.2.

I have the same problem for the last month or so, I can right click and open in a new tab but just clicking on them no longer works. win 10 current build and current opera 64.0.34xxx.
I've also noticed that sometime when reading a webpage and not touching anything that the screen focus will jump to another open program or to the desktop, not sure when this started.
i have reset to defaults in opera but no change, happens in normal and private mode -

No it doesnt, but if you right click and open in new tab it works. no problem with IE or chrome
