Which means not by mail and not just adjusting the numbers on your profile page.
Right now we seem to have a pop-up type of such. Right?
I'm quite comfortable with that. But...Are they clickable? I seem to haven't had a chance to check that - because they seem to be significantly delayed.
That's my [first] issue. By the time a pop-up notification appears, I've already loaded a few subcategories, entered the thread, read the reply and am typing mine. It seems like more than 10 seconds at the least (most probably more - up to a minute? more? I couldn't/didn't measure that - but it feels/seems rather "amountable"). -

I've done that.
I had a whole bunch of such notifications when I started the browser. I had a chance to click on only one, though:) Are they displayed the earliest at the bottom perhaps - or did I miss something? -

I just caught something.
Just had starred a discussion (topic), and then got two pop-ups for one single comment in it: one - "S*** commented on your thread", the other - "S*** commented on your starred discussion". I wish it will be put into the dealing list and handled appropriately. -

You will already receive notifications for comments on your own threads so you don't need to star them.

I'm not actually using notifications.
And I have a right to star whatever I want/need.

The "notifications" have become tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo laggy.
Twice at least I got some on comments that I read and "discarded" in my PREVIOUS session here, in another browser.
We're talking not minutes - hours! Huh?

I use the starring as a means of flagging threads I've participated in. Sometimes the notifications don't arrive for eons, and other times, they appear and disappear in a moment, so starring provides a good way to get back to certain threads. Another issue is "sinking" threads... in a few days time, they can move multiple pages deep into the index, and it's hard to find them quickly otherwise - stars stand out immediately and give a quick lookup to threads I've participated in.

Just installed uBlock, and on this site, it immediately started blocking stuff.
First of all, I noticed a "1" there, opened 'the logger', and found somehttps://forums.opera.com/dashboard/notifications/inform
in there...
I don't get how to use all that there yet. :|
