I see that Opera has an option to add search engines to the SE list.
I am trying to add the engine - "entireweb.com" To the List.
I did everything that was asked - setting the query to %s, and placing the resulting URL in the "edit search engine options".

However... I am not allowed to set this new engine as my default.
In fact, I cannot make ANY search engine, which is not already a "default", the 'default search engine'.

Is this not an option allowed by Opera? If it is not, then what was the point of creating the "add search engine" option in the first place?

@benjamins1768 As rule number one should have told you already, only pre-configured search engines can be set as the default one.

@benjamins1768 The option to add search engines is there so that people can use their custom search engines either by using a keyword in the address bar or by using the right click menu.

And I suppose that - while you could allow this - you are not going to.
& here I was thinking opera wasn't part of the cabal.
