Huge "media control" box appears when changing volume

I can't remember when this started happening but everytime I change my volume when using opera, this enormous box appears with play/pause controls. And since I like to watch videos in full screen, this is making me avoid changing volume since I don't want 1/5 of the screen to be occupied by this large box
