      hi,

i am using opera to read feeds and so i have some messages stored in my feeds. I have a new computer and so I want to export and import the messages and not only the news feed list.

Using Export as mps and reimport does not work. Is there any way that I do not loose the messages?

      thx,
      qed

The best thing to do is to backup the mail folder.

Opera only lets you export and import the feeds list. And, even though you can find your feed messages in the mail/store/accountN folder, Opera can import them into a local POP account and not into the feeds account where feeds get placed in the feed views they belong to.

As said, you need to copy the mail folder (while Opera is closed) to the new computer. But, it's best to copy all of both the Roaming and Local Opera Mail profile folders over to the new computer first and then install Opera Mail so that it's like those profile folders were always on the new computer where you don't even lose your global mail settings and passwords.

For example, WinXP to Win7 x64:

            Move "C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Opera Mail" to "C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming"
            Move "C:\Documents and settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\Opera Mail" to "C:\Users\user\AppData\Local"

That'll copy all Opera Mail profiles to the new computer (just in case you have more than one).

Then, install Opera Mail to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Opera Mail" (and install any other Opera Mail's you had on WinXP to the same spot as before ("C:\Program Files" -> "C:\Program Files (x86)" though).

What version of Opera are you using or are you using the standalone Opera Mail? What OS are you moving from and to?
