First of all, sorry for my english...
This is my first discussion in this forum, but I'm not here to complain about missing features in O22 that were present in O12. Just wish someone would give me some information about the browser.js patch that was implemented on YouTube to force flash video playback (I don't know much about it). When will it be removed? Because as I have seen, Opera now supports HTML5 video playback when the flash plug-in is disabled. My question is: when will Opera have FULL support for HTML5 videos on youtube?... Opera used to have it earlier.
I'm using Windows 7, 32 bit.

I believe they can remove it soon. Opera has full HTML5 support only for free codecs, in Opera Developer 23 the devs started the implementation of H.264/MP3.

So, hopefully, we will have support for HTML5 video in Opera 24 or 25 (?)... It seems I'll have to keep using Chrome for YT videos meantime. Whatever, thanks for the info!

It's already supported in the current version.HTML5 video is supported on Opera since 10.60 beta ~ June 2010. And from day 1 in the Chromium-based version (14 and newer).

@rafaelluik, Sorry, I should specify better. I should say: ''YouTube HTML5 video support'' (and I'm not talking about the flash plug-in trick). I know that Opera handles very well the HTML5 video element. It works great on other pages such as Vimeo.

Opera supports html5 on YT. Just disable flash and you'll see. However, Opera doesn't support yet all codecs and that's the reason for some videos not working if you don't use flash.

And it isn't obliged to do so. H.264 isn't an open web standard (WebM isn't either, but it works and YouTube could serve it to Opera if they wanted).
Nevertheless, H.264 is indeed coming to Opera. -

That's exactly the reason why I don't like to use the ''Flash Plug-in Trick''. And besides that, in some videos, the resolution is only available in 360p; The loading speed of the videos is less than in Chrome; etc. That's why I said: ''FULL support'', not only partial support.
YouTube could serve it to Opera if they wanted
So, The reason why Opera has this problem is because YouTube didn't want to cooperate?
H.264 is indeed coming to Opera.
I Hope this can solve part, or the whole problem.
