Opera Starts Unmaximised

I've very recently downloaded Opera from the Ubuntu Software repo. I'm impressed as I can open it without the keyring. I'm running 16.04 LTS.

However, when it first opens it is always in a minimised state. Is there a way to open it maximised?

Minimized? Mine is small, but not minimized. Though if you want to start it either maximized or full-screen you'd have to edit whichever shortcut you use to start it to add an appropriate command-line switch.
