Latest version not clearing history in private mode with Mojave

Just installed Mojave on my Mac. Latest version of Opera also installed. Appears that when using private page or mode history IS NOT being cleared. I can do this mannually. Also when in private mode and I click on my bookmarks tab they open in a new non private page. When I open a bookmark they open in that page and not the private page. Any help would be appreciated.
