First the "downloading" window would not complete. I pulled up task manager and stopped it. Now the "installing for current user" window won't quit. It's been going for hours with no progress bar. The other strange thing is I'm using Opera to post here so it is functional. Thanks in advance !

Did you try changing the installation path?

@leocg Thanks for the suggestion leocg but I'm a computer novice. Other than task manager, the only thing I can think of is to shut down the computer to get rid of the window.

Run the installer, click on 'options', change the installation path, check if it works.

@leocg I don't know how to run an installer. So instead I just shut down the computer and the installation window disappeared. Is there a way to check the health of the browser or if it is finished installing ? There was never a green progress bar so unsure if it started or finished.

You double click on it like on did in the first time you ran it.
To check if the browser is working, just try to run it.

@leocg I guess just forget it. It works. That's good enough for me.
