Tired Of Struggling To Update Opera - Every Occasion !

Opera likes to consider their releases as stable but why can't they get the manual update mechanism working properly. I have eight machines all running Windows 7 and all experience the same or similar problems. For example when checking manually Opera (supposedly) finds an update and it gets stuck at downloaded 100%, no restart message. So I close the browser , open it again and go through the same process, again and again . The only way is to download the offline package, write it to a cd or usb drive so all my machines can be updated quicker. Operas manual update mechanism has in my opinion never been reliable. If other browsers can update manually properly first time, why can't Opera ?

I always manually check and update. Works fine for me. I see quite a few users run into this issue though.

I have had issues with the manual update check failing with an error though. Playing around with things, I decided to run installer.exe in the latest version folder in the Opera program files folder. Doing so made Opera update to the new version as if the update was already downloaded and there was just an error in triggering the update. Worth a try for your issue next time it happens.
