I have been using Mini for a couple years, but without really needing to change any settings.

Now I would like to be able to do things like update my version and change the icons that appear on my home page. However I need help with getting to do that. For example I see no 'about'

To update your Opera Mini, just get the newest version in Play Store

To remove entries from your speed dial, just tap on it and move it to the trash.
And to add entries, just open a page, click on the three dots at the top right and then on add to speed dials

When I tap on an icon it opens that app, for example, HR Block.

How do I get to this Play Store?

You are at Opera Mini start page/speed dial, right? You need to tap on the site shortcut, hold it and move it to the trash.

How do I get to this Play Store?

You click on the Play Store icon in your Android phone.
