Sidney, "access" has its "c" double - first one ends the prefix, the second one starts the stem (derived from Latin).
Have you ever learned Latin? It's a great help in making yourself a decent English speller - lots of English words have Latin origins. Some came early, some recently; some came directly, while there are those that took a journey through certain other languages (most of such came from French - thus they may not exactly follow their original Latin morphology having dropped into English).

Haw or whore ?, if it's the latter, then I'm pretty sure she would raise the blood pressure, as well as possibly a few other things too.
