it's been 3 years i monitor opera dev and it seems not interested to implement sync to extension, as sys-admin this is dealbreaker so i decided to use vivaldi instead !
Vivaldi has better sidebar, feature, and most importantly it can sync extensions ! shame on you opera ! time to uninstall.

Hey, Team Opera, you guys are awesome, but seriously? No sync for extensions?

Uninstalled Opera for the clear lack of support for its users. GG EZ, no regrets.

After suffering for years. I have finally give up they keep adding cosmatics bullshit. and without sync extensions its useless. I didn't wanted to leave but I was forced to leave opera once for all. I may consider coming back if extensions sync option is avaialbe.

Still waiting for this extension sync feature. Badly need this feature. I have been using for 7 years probably. Until now there is no idea they will bring this feature which every other prominent browsers have.

Totally agree...
I'm evaluating Opera since many years with Chrome, and it seems to be a very nice browser these days. But the missing sync of extensions is a show stopper because of wasted time (multiple VMs and Hardware here), -

I do agree, needed a lot just signed up so I could use Opera on work and home in a similar fashion now I wonder to how this thread still doesn't even gotten an official support answer. For being such a comfortable browser this is the opposite of that approach when in this case any other major modern desktop browser Edge (Chromium), Chrome, Firefox seem to be syncing extensions.

@d0naldho your welcome, since vivaldi itself is created by ex-opera dev that doesn't like with opera so it will be much better than opera obviously

Posting to add my support for extension sync. I can't believe Opera is the only major desktop browser to not have extension sync.

Please, this addition would be most welcome. All the other major players in the browser space have this option, and it is the only reason I've left Opera for Vivaldi. Once Opera adds this option, I'm back.

Syncing a browser is only about the many browser custom settings; extensions, preferences, themes, wallpapers, apps, and addon's, predominantly. Obviously, bookmarks are either used in a cloud setting, and can even be shared cross-browser, and so, 'browser sync' has nothing to do with bookmarks. All major browsers (Chrome, Chromium, FF) sync the browser settings (again, not to be confused with bookmark syncing). I guess Opera will be among the last to do so, or, it will never happen, which will mean it will not be used as much, as in its potential as a front runner browser. Bummer! Thankfully the Linux Mint OS is bringing the Chromium browser back into its repository in mid Dec 2020; at that time I guess I'll swap Opera for it.
