Opera crashes

Opera crashes almost every day. This has been happening for over two years, and I upgrade Opera frequently, which does not help. If I forget to stop opera at night there is a very good chance it is crashed in the morning. I must reboot the computer to restart Opera. It seems it is a CPU hog, As the day goes on the CPU gets to 100%. I open windows task manager and there are about 19 Opera threads? running. Is this normal?

19 threads could be normal if you have 10 tabs open. As far as the crash - if your computer goes into some sort of hibernate mode then it could be common. Opera doesn't handle sleep/hibernate mode.
