[Solved]Video playback issues

Hi everyone.
I have stored a few videos on my google drive. Opera cannot playback them on linux mint, but the same videos can be played under windows 10 opera. The video formats are mainly .avis. So far I have tried installing ubuntu restricted extras, multimedia codecs and libk 3b6-extra codecs with no result.
Opera is a fresh installation and updated to the latest version. Note that chrome and firefox can play my videos on both windows and linux. Any idea? -

@leocg Thank you for your reply. I had already searched through your links but didn't make it!

Make sure you have chromium ffmpeg codecs extra installed and remove tha other useless packages you installed.
What version of mint are you on? -

@jimunderscorep I recently updated to the latest mint distro (19.1 Tessa). I installed ffmpeg codes. But did't help. I have also noted that there are also some youtube videos not playing too.
In windows, all videos play on opera though. -

This problem appears every time I update Opera. I'm using Linux Mint 19.1. But this thing was in 18.3 too. While updating, Opera replaces libffmpeg.so, that doesn't play videos. To fix this issue just replace libffmpeg.so in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera with the same file from /usr/lib/chromium-browser. After that video plays fine.
