Inactive zone at the bottom of any page when «hide address bar» is enabled

  • Steps to repro:

    1. Enable «hide address bar when scrolling» in Settings.
    2. Go to https://blogs.opera.com/mobile/ (or any site with some active elements at the bottom of the page) and scroll to the bottom of the page.
    3. Try to tap «Terms of Use» link (for the site above or any active element/link in other cases).
      Result: nothing happens.

I shot a video to visualize the bug:

Compare the shadow animations at the top and bottom. As you can see, there is a gap at the bottom between the shadow and Opera's navigation panel. That gap is the exact dead zone.

The bug is present only when Opera panels auto-hiding (any of the two variants) is turned on.

    My specs:
    ARMv8 SoC
    5.5" 1920x1080
    Near-stock Android 8.1

  • Seems to be working here on my Moto Z3 Play.

  • @leocg I have an assumption that that's because you have on-screen navigation bar, rather than separate navigation buttons.
Need someone to test this with buttons under the screen and 16:9 aspect ratio.
