Can gallery.pro69.viwindow.mp4 and similar pop-ups be stopped?

  • How can I stop the pop-ups or notifications like this that I get on the NBC and CNN news websites? They slide up from the bottom of the page repeatedly as I scroll. The options are "Play now", "Download", or "Cancel". Cancel makes it go away, but it comes back several seconds later.

  • An MP4 file is a video, so apparently the site is trying to autoplay a video.

  • I understand it's a pesky auto-play video, but I still don't want to get a notification every time I scroll over one. It seems like there would be a way to block the auto-play videos without the equally annoying notifications.

  • Hi @welderguy

Thank you for you message! Could you provide more details as listed here, so we can investigate the issue? You can also use the Mini built-in bug reporting.

If the problem is with a page, a link to it nbcnews.com cbs.com and other sites with auto-play videos

A screen-shot of the problem if it's related to something not showing as should

A description of the problem, including as much as information as possible A pop-up slides up from bottom of screen from various sites such as gallery.short.viwindow.mp4 or gallery.pro69.viwindow.mp4 each time I scroll over an auto-play video. Options on the pop-ups are Play now, Download, and Cancel.

Steps to (try to) reproduce the issue It happens every time I visit those sites.

Expected behavior and the actual one No pop-ups would be nice. My desktop has McAfee Web Boost which automatically pauses the auto-play video, but you can watch it if you want with one click. That's a perfect solution.
