Global Google for default search engine?

I am in Thailand and I have downloaded opera here and the thing that bugs me to the core is that every time I search in new tab it uses google.co.th and all the results have thai language or thai specific results, I want opera to use global google site and the worse thing is that I can't change the default search engine to a custom on either.

If there is a solution to it I was unable to find it and if some have any solution to this please help me. I don't want to download opera again because the setup I have will take atleast one whole day to set it up from fresh.

Edit 'Local State' using a text editor and change the country code in the following line:

"location":{"country":"br","country_from_server":"br"},

It should help.
