i cannot find the setting where one can enable to see the full url in the statusbar,
when hovering with the mouse over a link?

Hmm, I don't remember there being an option to control that for the status bar. What do you see in the status bar when hovering over a link? Can you right-click on the status bar and reset the toolbar to see if it helps?

I do know that if you want to have a tooltip show the address when you hover over a link, you need to turn off the status bar. But, that doesn't show like what you mean.

          resetting did the trick thanks!
but having a tooltip would also be neat combined with the status bar.
no use though, is one has to disable the bar though..

There is a status field in the status bar in O12, in certain circumstances you could remove it by accident. (There is no switch that I recall.) Either you can customize and put it back (or for that matter, put it somewhere else if you prefer), or you can reset to defaults.

There was a setting about allowing websites to control the status field, if enabled they might prevent you from seeing the URL by displaying their own message.
