No and no. I'm not in US and my VPN is set to optimal location.

Setting the VPN to Americas didn't seem to make any difference.

OK, then you cannot appreciate my frustration with this VPN thing.
          Thanks for all the input.

@esebm Try using the VPN to visit https://ipleak.net/ and it may give some information about what is leaking your location. Give it a few moments to accumulate information, and it should show you data about what information is available to a website and from what.

I did try the ipleak site and I see some IP addresses and my true home location but I'm not sure how to interpret the data.
I know that WebRTC is set to "Disable non-proxied UDP".

Under 'Your IP Address' do you see your real IP? Or do you see the VPN one?

If it's not the VPN address, that you can see clicking on the VPN icon, then it's your real IP address.

No, it's not the IP address on the VPN icon, it must be my real address.

                              Strange.

What about https://whoer.net/ ? It also shows your real IP even with the VPN on?

                                Yes, real IP address.
And it shows that WebRTC is enabled although WebRTC is set to "Disable non-proxied UDP".

Strange that it works here even with WebRTC in the default setting.

Any change if you set another location for the VPN?

The same way you set it to Americas as you said. Click on the VPN icon in the address bar.

OK, tried with optimal location, same result.
Tried with Europe, located in the Netherlands.
In both cases WebRTC shows enabled.

And your real IP appears in all the situations?

As a last test, does https://whatismyipaddress.com/ shows your real IP or the VPN one?

@esebm said in VPN does not hide my location:

OK, tried with optimal location, same result.
Tried with Europe, located in the Netherlands.
In both cases WebRTC shows enabled.

At the https://whoer.net/ site, the WebRTC indicator itself should show 'enabled' since most of Opera's WebRTC code remains functional even if the non-proxied UDP is disabled... that disabling only removes WebRTC user IP reporting functionality. If you enable Opera's WebRTC non-proxied UDP functionality in the WebRTC settings, you'll see your true IP listed beneath the whoer site's WebRTC indicator. When you disable Opera's non-proxied UDP, your IP should disappear from beneath the site's WebRTC indicator and should be replaced with a "N/A" entry.
