Preferences files cannot be read

Hi, I'm using Opera Developer 58.0.3134.0 on Windows 10. I had just done a clean install last week due to another problem. Anyway, once I got everything set up again after the clean install, Opera was running fine until this morning when I was greeted with the following error:

Profile error occurred
Your preferences cannot be read
Some features may be unavailable and changes to settings won't be saved.

I rebooted and started Opera Developer again only to get the same error.

Any suggestions?

Did you try a clean profile? What about reinstalling Opera?

@leocg, my profile is only about a week old--as is my Opera installation. I realize a clean profile will correct the issue, but I'd rather try to fix my current profile because I really don't want to go through the whole setup and configure exercise again for all my tabs and such. Although, I appreciate your suggestions. Thanks.
