I'm actually writing this post from FireFox because I cannot use Opera/9.80 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) Presto/2.12.388 Version/12.17 because when I open the browser, the keyboard and mouse no longer function. I'm prompted for my master password but when I type it's as if the screen is locked for input. WTF?? None of the tabs, buttons, links will work either. No mouse, no keyboard, no Opera. Anyone else have this wonderful enhancement? Is there something that has locked the input that I've inadvertently hit? Any info welcomed.

          1. Has 12.17 ever worked for you since you installed/upgraded it?
          2. Are there any extensions/add-ins being used by the Opera installation?
          3. What is your anti-virus (and other anti-malware tools) that you're using?
          4. Is there any kind of parental-control or key-logging software installed on your system (either by you or by your ISP)?

If you recall what tabs were open when you last used it, were any Flash or other videos?

The only real reason it should ask the master password right at startup is if you also use it for mail - you might try opening a command prompt or the Run dialog and starting it with the -nomail option to see what's going on. That is, type

            opera.exe -nomail

This will disable mail for that session, and therefore shouldn't ask for the master password until you try to login somewhere..
